Woven fabric is the more traditional one of the two fabrics. Many threads are woven perpendicular to each other to form a woven fabric. The line passing vertically through the fabric is the warp and the weft is the horizontal line. In short, the weft is a transverse line, and the combination of longitude is the basis. When knitting, you only need to thread weft up and down alternately. It is best to weave when the warp is stretched on the loom. The strength of woven fabrics depends on the type of thread or yarn used, and it can be made of many different fibers, which makes woven fabrics have many uses. Most clothing fabrics are woven, including shirts, trousers and even denim.

Non woven fabrics are long fibers bonded together by some heat treatment, chemical treatment or mechanical treatment. Weaving or artificial construction is not involved. Non woven fabrics have many different uses; It includes liquid repellency, elasticity, heat insulation, and can be used as a bacterial barrier. Non woven fabrics have a range of strengths that can be enhanced by adding additional support backing. Due to the low production cost and fast manufacturing speed of these fabrics, they are often a more economical choice. In most cases, woven fabrics are more durable and stronger than non-woven fabrics. This is because the woven fabric is reinforced by cross lines, forming a strong barrier.

Although non-woven fabrics may sometimes be stronger than woven fabrics, the durability of non-woven fabrics depends entirely on the way they are manufactured. For example, disposable plastic bags and surgical clothes are examples of non-woven materials, but it is obvious which material needs to be stronger.

If you are designing a product, it is important to weigh the characteristics you need to have in order to determine what type of fabric you need. "Woven fabric" and "non-woven fabric" are the general categories of different types of fabrics (nylon, denim, cotton, polyester, etc.). Deciding whether to use woven and non-woven fabrics is a good place to start the fabric decision-making process.
