In 2019, China's polyester staple fiber (melt direct spinning) industry has an annual capacity of 7.91 million tons, with a real output of 6.526 million tons, and domestic consumption is around 5.62 million tons, of which 11.15% of which is applied to the field of non-woven fabrics. The application of polyester staple fiber in nonwoven industry is mainly spunless nonwoven, while a few fields are used in needling nonwoven industry.
From the specification, the staple fibers of water prick type polyester are mainly 1.56dtex*38mm, while the staple fibers for needling non-woven fabrics are mainly 2.22dtex * 51 / 65mm. From the origin, the production of spiny polyester staple fiber is mainly concentrated in Jiangsu Province, including Yizheng Chemical fiber, Jiangnan of Suzhou and West Huayin of Jiangyin. In addition, Zhejiang, Anhui and Fujian have a small amount of spiny staple fibers, with a total capacity of 900000 tons, about 30% of which are used for export.
