China Starts Cotton Sustainable Development Project

Xinhua news agency, Beijing, April 30 (reporter Hou Xuejing) - on the 30th, China Cotton Association issued the "China cotton" production management specification, and signed the production side cooperation agreement of "China cotton" sustainable development project with six large backbone enterprises in the industry. At this point, "China cotton" sustainable development project (CCSD) was officially launched to promote the high-quality development of China's cotton industry.

 

Wang Jianhong, executive vice president and Secretary General of China Cotton Association, said that he hoped to promote energy conservation and emission reduction in cotton production through the release of the "specification" and project cooperation, respect the efforts of every worker in the cotton production process, encourage producers to choose good varieties and improve the quality of cotton.

 

This time, China Cotton Association signed cooperation agreements with six enterprises, including Xinjiang cotton Co., Ltd., Xinjiang Guoxin Seed Industry Co., Ltd., Hubei Yinfeng cotton Co., Ltd., Xinjiang shuikong guomian Technology Co., Ltd., Xinjiang Guotai Cotton Industry Co., Ltd. and Xinjiang Lihua (Group) Co., Ltd., to plant cotton, plant cotton and other products in accordance with the requirements of the specification Administration. These six companies are large-scale cotton backbone enterprises in the industry, with annual cotton business volume of more than 1.6 million tons, covering cotton production, processing, sales and other links.

 

Wang Jianhong said that China is the world's largest cotton consumer, textile exporter and the second largest cotton producer. In the future, we hope to participate more and better in the production and sales of high-quality and sustainable cotton products, so as to drive the transformation of cotton production, circulation and consumption mode.
