1. Medical treatment
Medical superabsorbent dressings are designed to present the correct moisture conditions around the wound without causing actual wetting. The fabric quickly absorbs and retains exudate from the infected area. Thus, this helps promote an optimal healing environment and limits further bacterial growth. This medical superabsorbent can aid recovery, especially when used to treat highly exuding wounds.
Our products have been developed extensively for such applications and we have actively worked with customers to create custom fabric and yarn solutions for the effective management of chronic wounds and burns.
2. Gardening
Superabsorbents can be incorporated into a wide range of nonwoven and woven structures and can be used as temporary and long-term water management solutions in many different horticultural and landscaping applications. This fabric is designed to store and deliver water and nutrients to the root system while significantly reducing evaporative losses and water seepage. They can be used in a wide range of applications from hanging basket liners (Basket Boosters™) to large commercial scale planting and landscaping projects. Superabsorbents can also be added directly to the soil medium to enhance water tolerance.
3. Cable
A damaged cable may start to seep in water. If superabsorbent tape or superabsorbent water-blocking yarn is added to the cable during the manufacturing process, it will quickly absorb liquid at the point of damage and swell to form a gel, preventing further water ingress. Any resulting cable breaks are minimized, fully contained and easy to locate and repair.
4. Filter
A significant cause of most oil and fuel system failures is high water levels. Superabsorbent fabric provides high water absorption capacity for oil/fuel purification while minimizing media migration or lint. In addition, the super-absorbent ingredients provide antibacterial function, will not affect oil additives, and fully comply with strict international filtration standards.
